Terms of Service

The day after Leonard’s diagnosis, Judith Calvin took the old Ford Taurus into town, to the public library, where she stood by the reference desk and looked around for the computer section. She held her bag tight to her hip and swayed nervously. It had been a while since she’d been to the library with any regularity. When she was young, she would go every week to check out stacks of romance novels. When her kids were young, she would take them to pick out picture books, though she no longer had the time or energy to read herself. Now she felt like she was trespassing, and irrationally feared that a security guard would realize she was there to use the computer and kick her out for being too old.
